Hey Y'all!

We all long for support and stability. Unfortunately, it's hard to find either of those in college. Especially when you don't have many friends yet. My first few weeks of school were hard and I most certainly needed someone to support me. At the time I didn't realize how much support I really had. There are 3 types of support: here, there, and everywhere. Wow I sound like Dr. Seuss. There is support from the people that are physically around you, support from long-distance friends and family, and from the One who has the power to be anywhere and everywhere simultaneously. The "here" support can be the hardest to find when in college. It's hard to feel supported by others when you really don't have any friends yet. Even now that I have made some friends, the relationships still aren't developed enough for me to think I can fully trust and find support in them. Since being in college, I have learned a lot about how important support is from those who are long-distance. I have relied on my family and church to support me a lot in advice and prayer. I probably ask my mom for her advice before I spend any of my money. Which happens several times a week. I have also relied heavily on support from my long distance friends. I talk to my best friend several times everyday. I tell her everything I am going through and she tells me just what I need to hear every single time. Lastly, and most importantly, I have relied on my "everywhere" support. If it were not for God I honestly would've dropped out of college, or at least transferred, by this point. I'm honestly not a fan of college and who ever said college was fun, lied. The only thing getting me through is knowing that God's purpose for me here is much more significant than going to school and getting a degree. Knowing that I can go to Him with everything and that He has control over everything gives me overwhelming peace. Below is a list of verses that have reminded me of the support I have. • And he said, "My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest." -Exodus 33:14 • He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken. - Psalms 62:2 • Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. - Galatians 6:2 • Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. - Proverbs 3:5‭-‬6 While we are talking about support we must remember that we are a part of other's support systems. Be willing to be a support of those who are near and far. The support you are looking for is no different that the support that everyone around you it looking for as well. I would also like to remind everyone that today is International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church. Be in prayer today for those who are living out their faith and being persecuted because of it.

Thanks for the love and support.

As always, love ya and stay tuned!

Emily ♡
