Hey y'all!

Happy belated Thanksgiving! I'm sorry for being behind and missing a few weeks but school has been a little hectic and I wanted to wait to post this week so I could reflect on Thanksgiving. This blog is going to be a little different as I'm just going to talk about some of the things I've been extremely thankful for. I'm also going to mention some of the great things I got to do during this holiday. First and foremost, I am so thankful for my family and other adult figures in my life. With being in college and going through all the struggles of a freshman, I have had a wonderful support system and I cannot thank them enough. Next I want to thank my friends from home (and my bestie from Missouri). The first part of the semester, before I had any friends, my already established friendships were crucial. Not only did they give me the love and encouragement I needed but they also gave me a standard for the type of loyal and Jesus loving friends I should look for. Not to mention they were able to motivate me based on personal things they knew about me. I also want to thank the friends that I now have at Ole Miss. They were and are truly Godsends. Some of them have been the only reason that I could bare college this far. Even though none of those relationships have been around long and even though we are still learning so much about each other, I'm glad that I at least have people to call friends in Oxford. I continuously pray for the growth of these friendships and cant wait ti see the fruits produced in the times to come. The best for last...I am thankful for Christ and this wonderful country He had placed me in. I am so thankful for my salvation and for God sending His one and only son to be crucified for my sins. I am thankful for the sovereignty of the Lord and the knowledge that he has control and dominion over all things, which includes my wild life, as well as, this country and its politics. In celebration of my thankfulness I got to spend time with my friends and family reflecting on all the blessings mentioned above. I participated in a friendsgiving that was ever so eventful. We had an uncooked turkey, pecan pie soup, tons of sparkling cider, and probably the most down to earth conversations I have had with this new group of friends. When I got home I got to see my absolute best friend, Maggie, and I've spent every chance I've got with her. I've got to relax, take plenty of time for "self care" and hang with all my pets. I spent thanksgiving at home with my family and out of town relatives. Not to mention my family set a record for black Friday shopping and completely dominated. I had some bomb Mexican food that I have missed dearly and saw one of my favorite high school teachers and her new born baby. Lastly, I got to start off the Christmas season with Operation Christmas Child and non stop Christmas music since 12 a.m. the night of Thanksgiving.

Also I sang a special at church Sunday called "Rescue" by Lauren Daigle. This song has been super important to me lately so I thought I'd include the video.

Thanks for the love and support.

As always, love ya and stay tuned!

Emily ♡
